PMT Selected for Medical Manufacturing Grant

PMT Selected for Medical Manufacturing Grant

PMT is pleased to announce its selection as a participant in the Localizing and Marketing the PPE Supply Chain for El Paso Growth Grant program.

The program, which launched last month and runs through December 2020, is funded by the federal Cares Act and provided by the City of El Paso’s Economic Development department. The grant assists El Paso companies affected by COVID-19 by helping to jump-start their medical device manufacturing programs and strengthen the local supply chain.

BIO El Paso-Juarez (BIO EPJ), a binational nonprofit organization representing the medical device sector in the El Paso-Juarez borderplex region, will facilitate the grant with the 17 selected participant companies. Working closely with the Texas Manufacturers Assistance Center (TMAC) Paso del Norte,  BIO EPJ provides consulting and training through the grant.

“PMT is excited to be a part of this grant program—BIO EPJ and TMAC are two groups that are known for providing value to manufacturers in our region,” said Charles A. Sholtis, CEO of PMT. “This grant allows PMT to provide training at a deeper level than we may have otherwise considered due to the current recession. It is perfect timing for PMT, as we have been already in the process of preparing for our ISO 13485 registration by the end of 2020 in order to manufacture for the medical market.”

PMT is taking part in the program to enhance its preparedness for ISO 13485, and to fulfill key trainings for additional members of our team, such as ISO 13485 Internal Auditing, Lean Six Sigma and Project Management certifications.
