Growth Spurs New Equipment Investments

Responding to increased customer demand, Plastic Molding Technology Inc. invested in three brand-new Toyo all-electric injection molding machines to ensure seamless service and increased available capacity.

Each of the three new presses will be outfitted with the latest in custom robots from HY Robotics, as well as new auxiliary equipment from Novatec.

Two all-electric Toyo Si-200-6 presses arrived at PMT Sept. 14, increasing current availability for molding customer parts in the 200-ton range. The addition of these presses will alleviate capacity constraints for PMT, and provide more scheduling space for new projects to launch.

PMT also added a second 500-ton Toyo machine as a complement to the single 500-ton Toyo currently on the factory floor supporting a key automotive customer. The Si-500-6 model represents the highest tonnage range available at PMT, and the newest edition arrived Sept. 25. The second 500-ton machine means increased availability in both quoting new projects and in running current projects for customers.

Investment in the three presses allows PMT to serve customers more efficiently, and to grow with new customers as well. The three new all-electric Toyo injection molding machines will be up and running at PMT by the first week of October.
